This film released in 1962 had Muthuraman in a Sherlock Holmes type role. Great songs too, with SSG singing a few - Manithan ellaam therinthu kondaan - a thathuva song by SSG for Muthuraman. For some reason, the film was not a hit. A rich kid (Kutti Padmini) who is tortured after her father's death, runs away from home and grows up to be a gypsy (Malini). Thangavelu is her gypsy-brother. VK Ramaswamy is the villain. TK Bhagavathy (Kalyan Kumar's father & kanakku pillai, who in a moment of weakness agrees to help VK Ramaswamy). TK Ramachandran has a cameo as a rowdy who troubles Malini. Sairam, etc. are in his gang.

Muthuraman's jodi is Vasanta, B.A. (they used to show her degree in the credits, guess it was very rare for cine artists to be graduates in those days. She keeps searching for her villain-husband Nambiar in " Then Nilavu [1961]": Oorengum thedinen - Jikki solo; and acts as Balaji's jodi in "Bale Pandya".)
