from the movie 'kAdhal paduththum pAdu'. PS brings
out sadness beautifully.
This is a singularly rare(!)and spellbinding song by
PS. In this movie, Jai and Vanisri are lovers, Jai gets wrongly
accused of some murder and goes into hiding to prove his innocence.
Vanisri sings this song sadly, thinking wistfully of their days
together, and wondering if good times will brighten her doorstep
ever again.
Jayanthi also had an important role in the film.
The Citadel Film Corp,'s KPP-1966 was directed, of
course, by Joseph Thaliyath. (It was Thaliyath who introduced Jai
in Iravum Pagalum in 1965). The film's music was by Citadel's regular
MD- TR Papa. (Citadel always saw TRP giving his best- Mallika, Vijayapuri
Veeran, Kumara Raja and Vilakketriyaval being some examples). Other
songs in KPP- 'Kaavalum
illamal veliyum illamal'-TMS, 'Ival oru azhagiya
poonchittu, vayasu eeronbothu pathinettu'-TMS-PS, 'Meladai
kaatraada'-PS and another song by PS-SJ (the opening lines elude me
now).
